Junior Full Stack Web Developer – Contract Position

Expat Tax Tools is currently seeking an enthusiastic junior full stack developer and web designer to join our team on a contractual basis. This is a part-time position (3 days per week) with flexible hours, ideal for someone looking to grow their experience in a focused, supportive environment.

Position Overview: We are seeking a Junior Full Stack Web Developer to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you will play a crucial role in creating intuitive and user-friendly interfaces and reports for our suite of tax-related tools. This is an exciting opportunity to combine your front and back end development expertise with your graphic design skills to deliver exceptional user experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain cloud-based single-page applications using plain JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS, and AJAX.
• Develop dynamic web pages that communicate seamlessly with the back end using Ajax requests and APIs.
• Participate in the full development lifecycle: planning, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance
• Design user-friendly forms and reports that enhance the usability and functionality of our tax-related tools.
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and optimize application performance for maximum speed and scalability.

Requirements:

• Working knowledge of PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, and AJAX.
• Experience with raw (non-framework) JavaScript coding.
• Comfortable working with and integrating APIs.
• Strong graphic design skills and experience creating user-friendly interfaces.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Assets:

• Proficiency with version control tools (e.g., Git) for collaborative development
• Familiarity with financial, tax, or accounting software systems
• Foundational knowledge of deploying and managing applications in a cloud-based environment
